Magic Trick Shop

Magic Tracks Shop Biography
With her painstakingly sourced chocolate and beautiful — not to mention delicious — confections, Swiss-born Maya Schoop-Rutten, aka the Maya of Chocolate Maya, has turned her tiny space into the biggest little chocolate shop in town. Her passion, which has taken her to plantations all over the world on the hunt for the most delicious — always ethically produced — chocolate in existence, is impossible to contain: so much so, in fact, that she’s decided to expand.

But Schoop-Rutten’s vision for the Chocolate Lounge — which she’s dubbed the cozy space next door to the original shop — goes well beyond more shelves of chocolate (though that would be fine, too). Beginning in a couple of weeks, she’ll offer chocolate tastings, much in the same way a wine-tasting room does. In fact, dissecting the flavors is every bit as much fun; chocolate is surprisingly nuanced, the notes as subtle — and unmistakable — as those in a glass of wine, and equally affected by factors including variety, terroir, production method, and growing conditions.

She wasn't the only one though. Fifteen other kids, who are being treated for severe blood disorders at Calcutta National Medical College, also received gifts on Saturday. Unable to rein in their excitement, many of the children gathered at the venue much ahead of the programme that was jointly organized by the foundation and Rotary Club of Kolkata Victoria. Some even tried to sneak-peek into the gifts wrapped and kept in a corner of the hall.
"They asked us to submit a wish list. I submitted a long list that included many kinds of books and toys. I hope they give me the pink-coloured teddy bear," said 13-year-old Sankrail resident Rimpa Ghosh, who jumped with joy on seeing the soft toy wish wrapped in a packing paper. Rimpa, too, is thalassaemic and is dependant on blood transfusion since birth.
Equally happy was Basirhat resident Tamal Chowdhury. "I have got Jawaharlal Nehru's 'The Discovery of India', Rabindranath Tagore and Uma Dasgupta's 'My Life in My World', Feluda Samagra by Satyajit Ray, Derek O'Brien's 'CB books of Knowledge' and Diana Eck's 'India: A Sacred Geography'," said the Class-XII student who was diagnosed with leukaemia six months ago.
The gifts were given out as a part of a project named 'Adopt-A-Wish'. To make the event more entertaining, a magic show and a puppet show was also organized. "We hope we can arrange more of such events for the kids in future. We are happy to extend our support and help for such noble work," said Uttam Ganguli, district governor for Rotary Club of Calcutta.
Director of Make-A-Wish-Foundation, S Chatterjee, also echoed a similar view: "There are more work spaces to be explored and hundreds of lives to be touched. We request people to volunteer and spread happiness into these young lives, most of whom have got life-threatening medical conditions."
Thirteen-year-old Habra (North 24-Paraganas) resident and a class IX student, Ritama Majumdar sets off from her home an hour early so that she can walk and reach her school in time. This leaves her sick on most of the days and she often ends up bunking school, instead. A thalessemia patient since birth, she wanted a bicycle to commute so that she does not feel drained out but her parents could not afford one. All she wanted was a fairy or a genie to make her wish come true.
On Saturday morning, fairy came in the form of 'Make-A-Wish Foundation' and granted the wishes of not just Ritama but 15 more children in Kolkata who are being treated for severe blood disorders in the Calcutta National Medical College. "I wished for a bicycle and they gave me that. Now I don't have to walk, feel sick and skip school. I cannot be happier," said Ritama who was overjoyed to have a bicycle of her own .

Magic Tricks Videos Biography
We have read this a thousand times: Social media and smartphones have provided every individual with the potential to become a global influencer. As a result, we have never lived in a world where things -- good and bad -- spread so quickly, at such scale, with such little control, leading to rapid successes and failures.

While people still scratch their heads to understand why Kony 2012 or Justin Bieber became global sensations, a guy appeared out of nowhere, singing lyrics no one outside Korea can understand, and hit the billion-view mark on YouTube.

Almost at the same time, the millions of users who made Instagram one of the fastest success story of the social media era forced the popular picture-sharing company to give up its highly criticized decision to claim ownership of every photo uploaded thanks to its app.

This happened over the past month and there are hundreds of other stories illustrating how social media has empowered people like never before. The figures are mindblowing. 340 million tweets are shared each day. Facebook claims more than a billion accounts and over six million views every minute. YouTube is available on 350 million devices allowing more than four billion hours of video watched each month leading to a trillion views in 2011.

But social media provides more than just information on the biggest scale ever: they facilitate peer-influence. Facebook Pages inform whether a product is good or not. The number of "Likes" and "Shares," and text comments also provides the "user-consumer" with information regarding what others are doing. And peer-influence is something very efficient in convincing people to act, much more than accuracy of information.
